Evangelizing the Church in the Age of Delusion           "Todd Bentley:  Prophetic?  Or...PATHETIC!"   A BIBLICAL EXAMINATION OF THE "LAKELAND REVIVAL"   1   "As for the prophets:  My heart is broken within me... For both prophet and priest are polluted; even in My house I have found their wickedness, declares the Lord." Jeremiah 23:9,11   Dear God!  HEAVEN HELP US!!  It is a sad, sad day for Christianity.  Major Christian Publications and major Christian leaders around the country are touting what is happening in Lakeland, Florida as "revival," and "the hand of the Lord" and "the new breed of prophet."  Brothers and sisters...IT IS NOT!  It is as the biblical prophet Hosea describes:   "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge... Since you have forgotten the Law of your God, I also will forget your children." Hosea 4:6   Dear ones,   THE GREATEST NEED IN THE CHURCH TODAY IS THE GIFT OF DISCERNMENT.   Consider for yourself some of the antics that Todd Bentley is attributing to God:*  

"The woman was standing in the back of the room when the faith of God
 hit the meeting and her tumor exploded out of her right leg, slid down her leg onto the floor.  I said "God, I prayed for like a 100 crippled people. Not one?" He said
"That's because I want you to grab that lady's crippled legs and bang them up and down on the platform like a baseball bat." I walked up and I grabbed her legs
and I started going BAM. I started banging them up and down on the platform.
She got healed.  And I'm thinking God, "Why is not the power of God moving?"
He said "Because you haven't kicked that woman in the face." And there was this older lady worshipping right in front of the platform. And the Holy Spirit spoke to me. The gift of faith came on me. He said "Kick her in the face - with your biker boot!" I inched closer and I went like this. BAM. And just as my boot made contact
with her nose she fell under the power of God. And I saw him and the gift of faith
came on me and I said "What do I do, God" and God told me to just run him down.
So I jumped up in the air and I went BAM and I hit him to the ground,
jumped on to him and got into a full mount. Ground and pound. I jumped on him
and I was in a full mount and something came over me and instead of
punching him I grabbed him by the neck and started choking him and I said
"Come out of him, devil! Come out of him, devil!" And I was at another meeting
one time and I called out this Chinese gentleman and all of a sudden I went running
down the aisle and I hit this guy so hard it drove him back several feet.
He hit the ground and his tooth popped right out of his mouth. The pastor was lying
on the floor and I was standing up on the platform and I said "God, I want revival"
and He said these words to me: "Leg drop the pastor!" I said "What?" He said "Leg drop the pastor!"

Brothers and sisters, the "Age of Delusion" described in 2 Thessalonians, chapter 2 is in full affect.  Long ago God spoke through the prophet Jeremiah concerning the last days.  He warned:   "Do not listen to the words of the prophets who are prophesying to you.  They are leading you into futility; They speak a vision of their own imagination, NOT FROM THE MOUTH OF THE LORD." Jeremiah 23:16 (bold caps mine)   And just as God spoke so long ago, He speaks today saying, "In the last days you will clearly understand it.  I did not send these prophets, but they ran.  I did not speak to them, but they prophesied.  But if they had stood in My council, then they would have announced  My words to My people and would have turned them back from their evil way and from the evil of their deeds" (Jeremiah 23:20-22).   He who truly has an ear...let him hear what the real Spirit of God is speaking to His Church in the days prior to His return.     *For further study on this subject click on the following:   self-study of Todd Bentley   view clips of Todd Bentley yourself
