An Email with the Subject "Update Security Information!!!" was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Wed, 20 Jan 2010 13:09:23 -0800 and has been classified as a Generic Scam Email. The sender shows as HSBC Bank PLC <Online-Alert@hsbc.co.uk>.

The email address was probably spoofed. Do not reply to or contact any persons or organizations referenced in this email, or follow any URLs as you may expose yourself to scammers and, at the very least, you will be added to their email address lists for spam purposes.

 You are receiving this message because during this routine check our security system discovered some irregularity in your account record. This might be due to different blacklisted I.P’s recorded in neither your checking record no various Security Data failures during logon's.

 We required you to take time to Confirm your online Access Profile. Failure to Confirm Your Online Access profile could result in your Online Access being  Temporarily Suspended. Temporarily Suspended Online Access would continue to receive payments,

 But are Limited in their ability to send or withdraw funds. You are required to confirm your Online Access profile to prevent this. To initiate this process use the  Logon below. Help us keep our bank Safe from Online Fraud.
