Search Scamdex & Scamalot
An Email with the Subject "Notification of e-gold account update !" was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Thu, 27 Jul 2006 09:10:39 -0700 and has been classified as a Advance Fee Fraud/419 Scam Email. The sender shows as "e-gold"<security@e-gold.com>.
The email address was probably spoofed. Do not reply to or contact any persons or organizations referenced in this email, or follow any URLs as you may expose yourself to scammers and, at the very least, you will be added to their email address lists for spam purposes.

We recently noticed one or more attempts to login to your e-gold account
from a foreign IP address.
If you recently accessed your account while traveling, the unusual login
attempts may have been initiated by you. However, if you did not initiate
the logins, please visit e-gold as soon as possible to verify your
identity:

Verify your identity is a security measure that will ensure that you are
the only person with access to the account.
